Volunteer Chapter Lead
Joshua Ney is a father of three great kids and a longtime fixture in the Gainesville music scene, having played in bands including Control Freak, Mouthfeel, Waylon Thornton and the Tomatoes, Light Ages, Parallel, Nervous Systems, the French Horns, Brittle Stars, and Crush 22. When he's not making music, he can be found on the soccer field or playing ultimate frisbee on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Joshua moved to Florida after experiencing firsthand the housing shortage in Northern Virginia. That experience fueled his passion for housing advocacy, and he became a chapter lead for the YIMBY movement with a simple belief: everyone deserves housing that fits their budget and their life. He's also a vocal advocate for safe streets in Gainesville. Not as mean as he looks.
